Warstones were back in league action today against Ground tenants Sporting Khalsa. It was new manager Ashley Cook's first game in full control & Warstones were out to prove a point.

Cook had Warstones playing with full confidence in each other & were on cruise control for all of the first half.

They took the lead after 30 minutes when a Martin Lewis freekick found it's way into the Khalsa net to take Warstones 1-0 up. Soon after a rasping drive from Nathan Dodd rattled the home crossbar from a wide postion.

10 minutes after the interval Khalsa were level against the run of play. A corner was failed to be cleared properly & after a little scramble the Khalsa forward prodded the ball home.

Warstones continued to play some good passing football & on 70 minutes they were deservedly ahead agai. Ryan Jones played a defence splitting through ball & after hesitation in the Khalsa defence Nathan Dodd put the ball past the Khalsa keeeper.

2 minutes later & Warstones went further ahead when again Nathan Dodd converted a drilled low cross into the net. Just a further 3 minutes later & Warstones were 4-1 up, Ben Wilkins stole the ball in midfield & went on a powerful run to ram the ball into the net leaving Khalsa shellshocked & Ashley Cook's first game in charge was a success for the 'Stones'.
